This week I’ll be preaching on 1 Timothy 3:1-7. This text is about the biblical office of Elder. I will be calling for men to step up and aspire to the office of Elder.

1 Timothy 3:1 says, “The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task.”

This text is assuming that men will aspire.  It is not assuming that they will sit around and wait to be asked or that they will just fill their life with play and leisure.  Play and leisure are not bad things.  They are good things.  However, there is something about a man of God that is pursuing Christ with all he has that is leading other men as well that is inspiring.

So, men, come willing to ASPIRE to the noble task of the office of Elder.  We need you to step up at Remedy Church.
