What is the book of Galatians about?

I listened to this (the Book of Galatians pt. 1) the other day and found it very intriguing.  They asked college  students from a Christian college, “What is the book of Galatians about?”  Very few were able to answer the question.  I find this interesting.

I do not believe one has to know what the book is about to be a Christian.

However, it speaks to the growing problem:  people just do not know the Word of God.  They know a lot of verses, random favorite verses.  This is the product of a “facebook status” or “twitter” culture.  We can handle short sentences, but not long arguments that require time to read and understand.

So, I have been asking people.

I have asked random people I know that are Christians what the book of Galatians is about.  The results have been similar to the White Horse Inn.  I find this intriguing.  Again, I don’t think these people are not Christians.  I really believe they know Christ, just not maybe His Word?

This intriguing part IS this, we know Christ best THROUGH His Word.

Read, love, treasure, meditate on, study, ponder and memorize the Word of God.  It is how you know Him.

Next time I see you, you’ll know what I’m going to ask you.
