Do you love Him little or much?
Something has been weighing on my heart lately. I am guilty of this, just as much as every other Christian. We see it everywhere in the church. This is what I mean…
Why do we see those who are followers and lovers of Christ seem so indifferent toward the sin in their life?
Further, why do we see Christians so seemingly NOT in love with Jesus?
I believe this is why:
“Therefore I tell you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven – for she loved much. But he who is forgiven little, loves little“ — Luke 7:47
It seems that far too many Christians honestly believe that they have not sinned very much. This is default mode of my heart if I am not thinking with a renewed mind. I forget just how sinful my heart is. When I do this, I lose sight of the vast reach and depths of the forgiveness of Christ for my sin.
The result: A life that does not look like I love Jesus.
So, know your sin. Not to the point where we live in despair, but most definitely to the level where we understand how great the Love of Christ is for us in the cross. We must do this so we can love Him much.
