Gig
We are playing a benefit concert this Sunday night for a 21 year old girl named Meghan who had five unexpected strokes. There is a Facebook event with all the information. Anyone who can come is welcome and bring whatever you can to help her through giving. This is a tangible way for Remedy to be the remedy to this situation and help her in her need as Christ calls us to do. Come out and support the band if you are free!
Membership Class
We will begin our membership classes this Sunday for those that are interested in joining Remedy. If you don’t want to join, but just want information about Remedy, you should still attend the classes. You are under no obligation to join if you go to the classes. The classes meet right after our worship service, and should be around 30 minutes. Membership class is 3 weeks long. So the classes are on 4/26, 5/3 & 5/10. See you there!

Mute Math
Last Friday I traveled to Furman University to see Mute Math. If you haven’t heard of them, check them out. This was my third time seeing them and they amaze me more each time. Great band. Excellent music. And they are in the process of recording! This pic is a sample and it’s the best I could do.
Leading a church staff
I have never led a church staff before. So, I am not even beginning to pretend to think that I have everything figured out. Actually, far from it. I have so much to learn it’s overwhelming. However, there are some things at Remedy Church that we as a staff have done and are doing. I believe its important for the staff to be growing together, so we are trying to foster and facilitate an environment for this.
For example, the week of Easter, as a staff, we all read in the Gospels all the accounts of Jesus’ betrayal, trial and death. We read them and meditated on them together so we were all ready on Easter Sunday to rejoice together about the Resurrection.
Some other things that we have done (or doing) are memorizing Scripture together (Romans 8), reading books together (currently “The Cross and Christian Leadership” by DA Carson) and fasting together in prayer for the church.
Lastly, we want to exercise not just minds, but also our bodies. Thus, we lift after every staff meeting on Monday nights. We are getting huge. Some don’t lift weights though. Can you guess who?

Podcasts
I’m not sure if you have iTunes, but you should. It’s free…and full of free sermons that are great to listen to.
Get iTunes for free here.
Once you download iTunes, look through the podcasts and find some great FREE sermons to help you push on in sanctification.
Here are some that I listen to and recommend.
1. Matt Chandler – The Village Church. He is awesome and will challenge you deeply and make you laugh a lot.
2. John Piper – Desiring God. He is one of the best expositors of Scripture in the world…a must listen.
3. Mark Driscoll – Mars Hill Church. He is insightful, funny, and a great teacher.
4. John Piper – Ask Pastor John. Quick, short answers to questions regarding theology.
5. Albert Mohler – Albert Mohler Radio Show – This is his daily radio show. It is about contemporary topics and thinking about them from a Christian worldview. On Wednesday it is just Q & A. I recommend listening EVERY Wednesday.
6. R. C. Sproul – Renewing Your Mind. Dr. Sproul is extremely smart. He is a great teacher. You will learn some very deep things about God.
7. The Resurgence. There are a lot of great people on this podcast. They speak on tons of different things. It is deeply theological and Gospel-Centric. I highly recommend this.
8. Acts 29. This is the Church Planting Network from Mars Hill Church. These are the sermons they have produced to teach their church planters. It is a great podcast.
9. Paul Washer. Passionate, passionate, preaching.
10. Francis Chan – Cornerstone Church. He is so convicting and challenging. He is the real deal. He loves Jesus.
11. White Horse Inn. ”Know what you believe and why you believe it.” You have to click on the podcast button and then put that in the “advanced” part in iTunes in order to subscribe. It’s once per week. Their desire is to keep the Gospel central.
