About 2 weeks ago we announced that we are going to move to 2 services this fall. The new service times will be 9:30am & 11:15am. We also gave out to everyone the 39 Day Study through Ephesians. We hope you’ll join us studying through it as we prepare for mission and ministry this fall.
We are very excited about going to 2 services. Some of the reasons are…
1.) The room we’re in has reached the 80% rule for some time. The 80% rule is that if your room is at 80% capacity, then you are unintentionally turning people away that don’t like crowded rooms and need to make room for them. Usually when you do this, both services should grow to 80% of the room. Churches usually just fill 80% of their space. This past Sunday there were people sitting where they couldn’t even see. We’re praying that creating this space will continue to bring people that need Christ and people that believe in the mission of Remedy Church.
2.) Our volunteers won’t miss the service. Right now if one of our volunteers is working in our Remedy Kids on a Sunday morning, they miss the service. They can listen to the podcast, but listening to the sermon on your mp3 player is not the same as being in the same room with your brothers and sisters in Christ, singing together, listening together, and worshiping Jesus together. Even some of the greeters miss the first ten minutes of the service. This alone is enough reason to have 2 services.
3.) Volunteers can invite every week. Now, for those volunteering, they are able to invite their friends, neighbors to come any week they want, not just on the weeks they aren’t volunteering. While we don’t drive our church on Sunday morning invites, but instead encouraging our people to live missionally and speak the Gospel to their friends in order to see conversion, we still think there is great value in inviting people to church on Sunday to see and experience the people of God worshiping Christ their King.
We’re praying for God to do huge, awesome things this fall. We are praying that His Name would be lifted high and He would be worshiped. We’re praying that the Gospel will be proclaimed and people will meet the Savior.
